Elite 60 Basketball Camp

Participants of the inaugural Elite 60 Basketball Camp.

The MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) and the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) launched the inaugural Elite 60 Development Camp last May 2017. This is the latest and newest project between the NBTC and MVPSF since they joined forces in 2012 as they continue to uplift, develop and create opportunities for aspiring basketball players in the country.

Following the success of the MVPSF Coaches Convention and their previous partnership with the NBTC Provincial Leagues, the Elite 60 Development Camp gave the top U16 and U18 prospects the opportunity to showcase their skills and learn new ones as they prepare for another season with their schools and clubs. Moreover, the Elite 60 Camp also gave the Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas an opportunity to identify talent for the Batang Gilas Program.

The Top 60 Campers were selected by identifying the top players at the regional level. Invitees from North Luzon, South Luzon and the Visayas all participated in one-day camps at a chosen venue in their region while tryouts were held for the Mindanao Region at the Xavier University Gym in Cagayan de Oro. Top players were then selected for North and South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The Top 60 players participated in the three-day Camp held at the CSA Campus in Makati City.

Both the NBTC and the MVPSF look forward to an even more successful Elite 60 Camp next year. With the passion and dedication of both groups along with the commitment of the SBP, the Elite 60 Camp is sure to grow in reach, affectivity and purpose as it strives to create opportunities for future basketball players nationwide.
